Words fail me.

What I wouldn't give to get my hands on them. What the fuck is going wrong with people???

I don't believe for a second that 'this sort of thing is as sprevalent as it ever was, it just gets reported more'.

I just don't believe that.

Folk are getting generally crazier by the year. I blame Thatcher. She shut the asylums.

. I blame Thatcher.

But maybe her successor, John Major, had a point with his remark along the lines of, maybe we should try to "understand" less and simply condemn more.

Ah cannae and dinnae want tae understand thon kind o' behaviour.

Absolutely.

Punishment for sheer badness and acts which are obviously contrary to the common good is sorely absent from our culture. It makes me furious.

I'm a bit bothered that thon shrunken heid photie from Senga  looks just like ME    Shocked    (only a bit more pleasant and pretty and cheerful, obviously, and with a tidier hair-style).   Scary, indeed.     Shocked      I must  hide from Senga.  Or dye my hair blonde or something.   Anything but browny/reddy/scruffy, else I get heid shrunkified.  Make note in diary.

And I will admit that I am flippantly addressing the fun daft bit first because I truly cannot think of what makes those "people" tick, why they would do that, and what the bloody hell I would want to do to them were I to get my hands on them.  It would be cruel and unusual punishment, that's for sure.

Nah, on second thoughts, forget the "cruel": nothing too cruel for such scum.

Oh, and the really really sad other bit?  Well, it's that one (all right, me, myself, I),  uses "when I get my hands on them" as a mere phrase:   were I actually in  Mr. Arthurs' situation, I'm pretty sure I would also be feart to intervene 'cos of not wanting to get stomped and killed by those thugs,  Philip Lawrence stylee.   Sad.  Not good.  Bad scene.  Not a very good society.  All of us would be scared to confront these evil creatures.  No point shouting out "ah'll tell yer mammy" or "ah'll tell the polis".   P.C. Murdoch or Dixon of Dock Green  aint gonnae come around and sort out the evildoers.

I can hope , I suppose, that this thing MIGHT  just engender enough revulsion locally to have some chance of catching these thugs.  I  hope so.

They got them.

Revulsion felt as far afield as California:

Kickin to death's too good for them.
