Mah auld granny, in her heilan' hame, a mere country mile frae the glorious, porridge covered mountains of  Hamilton, used tae shave the haggises afore she plunged thum, alive an' squealin', intae a boilin' pot o' lukewarm Irn-bru.
"Simmer the wee fuckers fur at least three days an' nights in a month wi' three vowels in it tae get the best results," the mono-toothed aged relation telt us weans as we sat, goggle-eyed and hauf cut by the family Aga in oor wee but an' ben .... or it might huv been oor wee doch an' doris? Anywey, an' this'll bring back happy memories tae lots o' youse, we weans wid jump up - giggling and screaming like banshees - and batter granny ower the heid an' rifle through hur purse fur some money fur drugs; happy, happy days.

As ah seid soon interestin see fer yirsel.

The year is AD 2090. Global Flooding has left most of the Scotland under water. The descendants of those who survived God's Flood live in a community of floating island parishes, known collectively as Port.

Port's citizens live in mortal fear of Senga, a supervirus whose victims are kept in a giant warehouse in sealed capsules called Kists.
Paolo Broon is a low-ranking cyberjanny. His life-partner, Nadia, lies forgotten and alone in Omega Kist 624 in the Rigo Imbeki Medical Center. When he recieves an unexpected message from his radge criminal father to meet him at But n Ben A-Go-Go, Paolo's life is changed forever.
He must traverse VINE, Port and the Drylands and deal with rebel American tourists and crabbit Dundonian microchips to discover the truth about his family's past in order to free Nadia from the sair grip of the merciless Senga.

Set in a distinctly unbonnie future-Scotland, the novel's dangerous atmosphere and psychologically-malkied characters weave a tale that both chills and intrigues. In But n Ben A-Go-Go, Matthew Fitt takes the allegedly dead language of Scots and energises it with a narrative that cracks and fizzles with life.

So, this book is not just a product of fevered Fey imagination, then?  It does exist?   Heh, I might seek it out and read it just for the general weirdness.

Not fair to make our pal Senga a virus though.   Shocked

Have you tried covering it in mud and leaving it to dry out, then when you break off the mud all the nasty bits come away with it?
