See they wimmin boxers....

Dae they hae any upper body protection?

Some o' them ur sae muscular that the bits needin' protection seem tae hae vanished, but ithers is still a bit bumby. I'd o' thocht that, even wi' amateur gloves on yer opponent, it cuild be a bit mair sairer and even dangerouser than fer a man tae get hit there.

Mibbe there's an upside down Queensberry rules - no hitting above the belt,   I'd hope they have some sort of protection, but | haven't a clue.

Haha, The spelling checker thingwie  didn't like the way I had mis-typed "Queensberry", so it suggested that I had meant "Queerness".  I doubt the old Marquis of Q would have liked that.    Laughing
Neil

Ah... the rule that dare not speak its name!

Ah found the follayin fae the wabsite o the English Amateur Boxin Association ( http://www.abae.co.uk/aba/index.c...-sport/safety-in-amateur-boxing1/ )

Quote:
Female boxers are also required to wear breast protectors.

...but the American Association o Boxin Commissioners ( http://www.abcboxing.com/documents/abcboxing_regulatory_guidelines.htm ) says;
Quote:
Female boxers shall box in boxing shorts, abdominal guard, foul proof cup, body shirt, shoes and a custom-made, individually fitted mouthpiece.  Breast protectors are optional.
Ah think they rules are for professionals.

...an here's fit the International Boxin Association huz tae say:
Quote:
7.2. For all Women competitions, a breast protector and a pubic protector may be worn by the Boxers.
7.2.1. Women’s breast protectors shall be constructed to protect the soft tissue of the breast up to the point that the breast protrusion merges with the chest wall. Breast protectors may not shield any other target area of the body except the protrusion of the breast. Right and left breast protectors, if connected, must be connected by thin material that does not protect the breastbone. Normal «bra straps» are permitted to hold the protectors in place. Breast protectors must have no metal parts except at the fastening site at the back of the Boxer.

Aye, it's a sweary word.   There are some others  too:  I'm not sure but I think the name of a certain former woman prime minister is among them.    Smile
Celyn

Looking at all those boxing rules, I reckon if I wanted to box, it would make even more sense to have breasts chopped off - optional mastectomy sort of thing.
