I got me a zillion worms. lovely little red worms, all wiggling away and making me some lovely compost. I just gave them some dinner - carrot and bean trimmings and a few tea bags to make a cuppa for themselves and a manky banana for their pudding.

There was some new baby worms on the lid so I put it back on very carefully. No worms were hurt during the making of my compost

Oh VERY sympathetic, that is.  And I thought Fey was a nice wumman too.  Crying or Very sad So can I do the old pun about the Diet of Worms now, or just run away? Smile

Don't care. I've got soup.  Very envious of all these gardens you all have though.   Mind, it would be a bother to me to get used to a garden simply *because* they've got worms and scary beasties, so all your worms are safe.

Och jist keep feedin thum hen then compost a few uv yir weeds & get richt healthy frae eatin thum.

After all, why spend sweat & tears weeding out something of high mineral & vitamin content (sow thistle; lambs quarters ) to replace it with spinach or lettuce of much less value to your body.

You can get more omega 3 from a weed than some fish.
Purslane takes a lot of weeding & fish is expensive.

They taste great too because they are so fresh & free from chemicals.
Don't gather where bluidy Councils spray.

Noo this is mibee wrong but sumwhaur in the distant past ay wis readin aboot one of the potato famines, the ones thit affected Ireland and there were claims that many of the folk died of weed poisoning, as opposed tae starvation.
